Jakob\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ealso engineered and mixed the record and played\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan\u003edrums\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eon a couple of tracks.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA multi-instrumentalist, René played most of the\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003einstruments on Trails - electric and acoustic guitars, some\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003esynthwork and piano here and there, and the tape\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003emanipulations - with Leaf recording artist \/ composer Julia\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eKent (who has also played with Anohni and the Johnsons,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSwans) providing cello, Nils Gröndahl (Under Byen) violin\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003edrones and Jens Hein bass.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDeeply meditative, the album’s warm, intricate textures\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eare built around haunting guitar lines, tape loops and\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003evarious drones.
