The band have also received\nmultiple Gold and Platinum albums, multiple Grammy nominations and, last year, the Classic Rock Metal Guru\nAward.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCo-produced by Rob Caggiano and Jay Ruston (both Grammy-nominated producers), their last (UK Top 50)\nalbum ‘Worship Music’ was a fitting sentiment for an undeniable masterwork of skewering melodies powered\nby herculean riffage and a tunefulness that proved Anthrax’s utter supremacy as songwriters. From the\nhaunting, ethereal tones of ‘Worship’ - an atmospheric piece - to the punch-in-the-face assault of opening\ntrack ‘Earth On Hell’, the results are positively badass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTheir (2013) 8-track ‘Anthems’ EP was a heartfelt tribute to the 70s rock acts that inspired the band. Acts like\nRush, Journey, AC\/DC and Thin Lizzy - bands that created a trademark sound and subtly influenced many of\nheavy music’s biggest acts today.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBeginning in the Autumn of 2014, Anthrax - Charlie Benante (drums), Scott Ian (rhythm guitar), Frank Bello\n(bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals) and lead guitarist Jon Donais - took their time in the studio recording their\n11th studio album. The band recorded some 20 original songs, almost twice as many as they had ever\nbrought into the studio in the past. In terms of how the new music sounds, Bello says, \u003ci\u003e“The thing about\nAnthrax... we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey’s powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but\nI also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like Anthrax. I think we've done\na really good job of that on the new album.\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSingle ‘Evil Twin’ is a full-on thrash metal tune that blasts off with a raging guitar riff, accelerating\nexpeditiously and completely uncontrollable. \u003ci\u003e“Yeah, that opening riff is really evil,”\u003c\/i\u003e laughed Benante. \u003ci\u003e“We had\ndone a lot of touring with Death Angel and Exodus, so I was in a really thrashy state of mind when I starting\nwriting the riffs for that song. I think along with Scott’s lyrics and Frank’s melodies, we came up with a really\ngreat, old-school thrash metal feel.”\u003c\/i\u003e As Bello puts it, \u003ci\u003e“it’s a song that begs to be played live.”\u003c\/i\u003e Lyrically, the\ntrack unapologetically denounces the self-righteous religious extremists who spread their bloody terror under\nthe guise of a Holy War.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album artwork is equally hard-hitting.
